A-level results: Howell’s School in Llandaff triumphs again

Nothing could dampen the mood at Howell’s School, Llandaff (GDST) in Cardiff today, as elated students celebrated yet another bumper set of A-level results.

This year 23% of all results were at the highest A* grade, with 58% receiving A*- A grades.  In total 85% of all results were A*- B grades and there was a 100% pass rate.

Four students, including Gwen Cartwright and Chris Horton, have gained places at Oxford and Cambridge universities.

And student Qiujie Lu, who gained 2 A*s, 2 As and a B at A-level, was thrilled with her results as her mother, who was visiting from China for the very first time, was there to witness it.

Howell’s Principal, Sally Davis said: “I am thrilled that all the hard work has once again paid off.

“An outstanding set of results for an outstanding year group! Creative teaching producing creative leaders… that is what we do best.”
