Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that on-loan defender Leon Barnett has been recalled by parent Club Norwich City.

The Canaries brought about the return of Leon due to injury and selection concerns at Carrow Road ahead of their end of season run-in.

Twenty-seven year old Leon quickly set about becoming an integral part of our promotion campaign after initially signing a month’s loan deal with Bluebirds in March following injury to skipper Mark Hudson. He made his debut in a 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday the following weekend, appearing seven further times including our promotion and Championship sealing fixtures against Charlton and Burnley this past week.

Leon returns to Norwich with our very best wishes and sincere thanks for his invaluable contribution.
