Cheshire and North Wales anglers net awards for year’s biggest catches

Anglers from opposite North Wales and north west England capped a prolific season’s fishing with a esteem night for a biggest catches and hauls.

North West Flyfishers handed out trophies during a club’s annual knees-up during Forest Hills Hotel, Frodsham, Cheshire.

The bar awarded locate of a year to Manchester rod Ray Storey, who bending an 11lb 2oz Rainbow fish from Graiglwyd Springs, Penmaenmawr.

Frodsham residents Sid Davies and England general Phil Burgess scooped a Clubman of a Year and Bank Angler of a Year awards respectively.

 

Meanwhile Neil Stockdale, of Dunham on-the Hill, reeled in a Boat Angler of a Year trophy.


North West Fly Fishers, whose fishing venues also embody Llyn Brenig, is now in a 39th year.

It meets during Frodsham Conservative Club during 8pm on a initial Wednesday of any month.
