Cricket – County Cook handed Glamorgan role

The 59-year-old, who was a prolific runscorer both in county cricket and for his native Transvaal, will assist Glamorgan’s head of elite performance Matthew Mott.

The county’s cricket consultant Brian Rose – himself an ex-Somerset batsman, captain and coach – said: “I am delighted that Glamorgan have brought Jimmy over.

“His playing and coaching experience will undoubtedly be of significant benefit to both Glamorgan and Welsh cricket.”
