Cricket: Glamorgan rearrange pre-season programme

GLAMORGAN have rearranged their pre-season programme this week because of the bad weather.

The Welsh county’s two pre-season matches at the Swalec Stadium this week have been re-arranged to the later in the week.

The game against Gloucestershire will now be a two-day affair on Wednesday and Thursday starting each day at 11am, with the one-day contest against Worcestershire re-scheduled to Friday starting at 11.30am.

Glamorgan have named a 12-man squad for the Gloucestershire game which will be a two-day contest will see a minimum of 100 overs being bowled on each day, with standard county championship timings being used for the lunch and tea intervals.

All-rounder Jim Allenby is included after missing the pre-season tour of South Africa while Ben Wright will open with Gareth Rees.

Glamorgan’s first-class season starts on Friday, April 5 with a three-day match against Cardiff MCCU at the Swalec Stadium, before the opening LV=County Championship match, against Northamptonshire on Wednesday, April 10 in Cardiff.

Glamorgan expect to have trio of imports Marcus North, Murray Goodwin and Michael Hogan available for the start of the season.
