Daniel Mark Kelley of Llanelli faces cyber crime charges

Daniel Mark Kelley from Llanelli has been charged of blackmail and money laundering.

He has also been charged in relation with an assault on a college computer system, which later impacted coursework submissions and exam management at Coleg Sir Gar, Llanelli.

The 19-year-old male from Carmarthenshire has been charged in association with worldwide computer offenses.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 12 September.

Police from the Tarian Regional Cyber Crime Unit said he has also been accused blackmailing an Australian company’s staff member on four occasions after allegedly exploiting susceptabilities of the company’s website to access classified customer relevant information.

He has been bailed ahead of the court appearance.

He is further accused of blackmailing a Canadian employee with emails and telephone calls to his home after allegedly hacking into personal information.
