Doctor Who-loving Canadian family got the treat of a lifetime when they met Peter Capaldi

When the Burton family from Canada visited Cardiff for the day to visit the Doctor Who Experience – they got the chance of a lifetime.

The family of four are all huge fans of the BBC One sci-fi adventure and came to the Welsh capital especially to visit the the dedicated museum to the long-running show.

But in a lucky turn of events, once they arrived at the attraction a kind member of staff directed them to the city centre, where the super-fans actually met the Time Lord himself, Peter Capaldi.

Parents Corey and Jannatta and their children Coady and Ava, quickly made their way over to Cathays Park where the show was being made.

“It was amazing to meet him, it was the best day of our entire trip. We were at the Doctor Who Experience and came here and just saw it and I got my shirt signed,” said Coady.

“We won parent of the year award,” said Janatta.

The family will soon be on their way home, but their day trip to Wales has certainly made it a holiday to remember.
