Fishing firm Angling Direct reels ’em in as revenue soars 21% to £26.5m despite ‘challenging period’
Revenue for the six months to July 31 at the fishing specialist jumped 21 per cent to £26.52million, against what it called a ‘challenging period’ for retail.
Store sales increased by 41 per cent to £14million, boosted both by the opening of five stores and 15 per cent like-for-like sales growth.

Online sales were up 10 per cent to £11.9million, but third-party sales declined by 47 per cent to £620,000 as the group shifted to focus on selling through its own website.
Expansion plans remain on track as the company opened a store near Leeds at the weekend.
