Keen angler casts his line at retail by opening a new tackle shop

It’s the first time that Mr Chester, 44, has run a shop although retailing runs in the family.

His great aunt and uncle, the Lawrences, once ran two businesses in the street 80 odd years ago.

Mr Chester said: “I’ve been a passionate fisherman for 30 years and thought it was about time I gave it a go.

“I’m going to have less time for fishing but at least I get to talk about it in the shop.”

He celebrated the opening on Saturday with guests from his suppliers Munch Baits and Hobo Armour .

Previously, Mr Chester spent 11 years as a residential support worker at Fairfield Farm College in Dilton Marsh.

He added: “The opening day was fantastic and we’ve had a steady flow of people coming in. So far, it has gone really well.”
