New north-east fishery offering free memberships to under 18s

A new north-east members’ fishery has opened its doors.

The Mill Pond, which is operated by the Aberdeen and District Angling Association, began operating in Newmachar at the weekend.

It is a stocked trout fishery for members of the association who can book a session online.

To encourage more people to take up the sport, the organisation is offering free membership to everyone under 18 years old, with the opening session on Saturday held specifically for junior members.

The association has two stocked trout lochs and access to riverbanks.
