A plane carrying a Premier League striker has gone missing somewhere over the English Channel.

Argentinian Emiliano Sala was on the light aircraft which has gone off the radar somewhere near Alderney in the Channel Islands (near Guernsey) after 8.30pm last night.

His new club Cardiff City FC have confirmed they have genuine concerns for his welfare.
