The Cardiff Triathlon is back and this is how you can enter

More than 1,000 people took part in this year’s event and now registration is about to open for the Cardiff Triathlon 2017.

The company behind the triathlon, Always Aim High Events, say they expect tickets to sell out “in record time” when registration opens at midday on Friday, August 19.

Marketing and sales manager Adam Lemalle said: “The Cardiff Triathlon is an incredible experience in every sense of the word.”

When is it?

The event will take place over the weekend of June 24 and 25 and will be the third Cardiff Triathlon, with the “event hub” based at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.

The route includes a swim across Cardiff Bay

Organisers describe it as an “iconic and high profile sporting event”.

The race starts with a swim in Cardiff Bay , before competitors complete a closed-road cycle and run around the city.

How far is it?

Those taking part will be able to choose between three distance options called Sprint, Super Sprint and Olympic.

The Sprint course – made up of 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run – will take place on the Saturday.
