THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Despite the International Break, there’s been plenty going on at Cardiff City FC this week. Here’s a round-up of the Bluebirds news from the last seven days.

BRIGHTON REACTION

Last weekend, City secured a draw against the table-topping Brighton Hove Albion as Joe Mason’s early strike was cancelled out by Dale Stephens.

After the match at the Amex, Peter Whittingham spoke at length on Cardiff City Player HD about the positive attitude of his City teammates. You can read part of what Whitts had to say here.

CLUB GOAL OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER

FIXTURE CHANGES: BIRMINGHAM FOREST


Yesterday it was announced that Cardiff City’s 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship match away to Birmingham City has been chosen to be televised live on Sky Sports.

The match at St Andrew’s, originally scheduled for Saturday 19th December 2015, will now take place on Friday 18th December 2015 at 7:45pm.

Meanwhile, our home fixture against NottinghamForest will now kick off on Tuesday 29th December 2015 at 7:45pm instead of the originally scheduled Monday 28th December, with Forest’s Boxing Day fixture against Leeds United also moving due to recent broadcasting selections.

U21 DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

This week, congratulations were in order for DVP prospect Tommy O’Sullivan who was named FAW Young Player of the Year for 2015!

The DVP side also had reason to celebrate on Monday, as they defeated Bristol City 2-1 after extra time with a 119th minute winner.

Eli Phipps and Ashley Baker were on the score-sheet for the young Bluebirds as the result saw them progress in the Premier League Cup.

With ten matches played in the Sky Bet Championship, we took a look at the players topping the individual statistics charts in the Bluebirds squad.
