The flyover came after the Red Arrows were forced to pull out of an appearance at Barry Transport Festival on Sunday due to poor weather conditions.
Thousands of people had gathered at Barry Island for the vintage vehicle festival last weekend, which was packed with classic cars and busses.
But the highlight – a display from the Red Arrows, which was expected to take place at noon – had to be pulled after very low cloud, drizzle and mist descended on Barry.
The Red Arrows announced the news in a tweet and apologised for having to cancel.
But these beautiful pictures, which were posted on Friday on the Red Arrows’ Twitter page, show the legendary aircraft making an appearance over Barry Island at last.
