Cardiff City’s U21 Development Squad host Gillingham FC in the U21 Premier League Cup on Tuesday, 28th October 2014, kick-off 7pm

Entering into the second season of this competition in the second round of qualifying, Nilton Terroso‘s men will face the Gulls only having tasted defeat once this season.

The U21 Premier League Cup was introduced at the start of last season and could see the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal take on Cardiff City’s young stars in future rounds. They were knocked out of the inaugural competition last season by eventual winners Chelsea

All games will be played at the home sides’ stadium with the Bluebirds entering in Qualifying Round 2 as a Category 2 status Academy.

The one-off fixtures in the competition will be played on a regional basis until the Round of 16, whereupon the draw becomes national. The final will be played over two legs home and away at the main stadia of both teams.

Regional qualifiers will be held to progress to the round of 32, at which stage Category 1 academies will enter the competition.
