Just like beer tester at a brewery would be the dream job for many adults, most teenagers would love to be appointed fun advisor at their local theme park.
Imagine it – being asked to give your opinion on future developments, as well as be having exclusive first access to try out all new rides and attractions.
Well, for three lucky young people that dream could be about to become reality, thanks to Oakwood Theme Park .
The popular Pembrokeshire-based outdoor attraction – the biggest of its kind in Wales – is looking to appoint three young people from the Valleys, aged under 16, to become ‘Directors of Fun’ and help the park’s owners ensure its working hard to offer the best possible experience to young visitors.
The successful applicants will get the chance to spend time with senior executives at Oakwood – which first opened its doors 30 years ago – to share their thoughts and ideas on what they love about the park and how it can be improved.
They’ll also win a family annual pass to the park, home to the world-famous wooden rollercoaster Megafobia and this summer’s brand-new attraction Witch Hunt.
Plus, the trio will also become the face of Oakwood’s advertising campaigns and promotions in their local regions and be the point of contact for residents’ feedback on the venue.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get the family both in the news and get brownie points for the family.
“Hearing the thoughts of the public is very important to us at Oakwood so that we can consistently provide an attraction of the highest quality, that Pembrokeshire, and Wales alike, is proud to call its own,” says Oakwood director Sue Elaiho.
” We wanted to learn what youngsters want from their park and what better way to do this than to hear from the very people who visit?”
Applications for the directors of fun are now open.
To apply, email your name, age, address and 100 words on why you think you should be Oakwood’s new Director of Fun to events@workingword.co.uk
