Watch the highlights from today’s Wales homecoming parade

A day of celebration saw thousands of fans descend on the streets of Cardiff to pay tribute to a wonderful Wales team.

A sea of red flooded the capital to welcome back Gareth Bale and co back home and to salute them as they embarked on a homecoming parade on an open top bus through the city streets.

Cheers and chanting reverberated around the city as Chris Coleman led his men from the gates of Cardiff Castle .

The team then took to the bus on St Mary Street as they embarked on a tour of the capital.

Fans were seen on their knees bowing to the players as they drove past.

The players even too part in a communal clap with the fans made famous by Iceland in the the Euros.

As they made their way westwards, the bus was followed by hundreds of fans, who sang ‘Please don’t take me home’, and ode to Hal Robson-Kanu and the national anthem.

When they reached the Cardiff City Stadium , they were greeted by a heroes’ welcome as thousands of fans who had waited for hours to see the boys gave them a rousing welcome.

A performance by Manic Street Preachers of their official Euro 2016 anthem ‘Together, Stronger’ sealed the deal on what was a truly spectacular day.
