Welsh Music Spotlight: Cardiff band Samoans in session with WalesOnline (video)

Daniel Barnett, singer with Cardiff band Samoans dropped into the WalesOnline studio for an interview and a session, playing a song from the band’s forthcoming album.

The band have been a big part of the Welsh music scene since their formation in 2008, and the release of their first single ‘Somersault’ in 2011 saw them gain traction nationally.

I caught up with Daniel to chat about the band’s new album, as well as his impressions of the music scene in Wales, a music scene that he has nothing but positive praise for.

Samoans have played sessions with BBC Radio 1, and have performed at Reading Festival, and SWN Festival here in Wales.

They are currently recording an album, ready for release towards the end of this year, and Daniel was kind enough to give us a sneak preview of the new material.
