BBC NOW Family Night

Join Grant Llewellyn and BBC National Orchestra of Wales for a fun night for the family. Music will include a selection of the Orchestra’s favourite popular classics as well as a few surprises!

The Bala Challenge Charity Walk

The Bala Penllyn Rotary Club will be holding the 9th Bala Challenge on Saturday, 11 May 2013. There are shorter distances suitable for families as well. The route is around the lake with splendid scenery of Snowdonia – with a choice of route: 8, 14, or 20 miles or a shorter guided walk with a local expert. The Challenge is 20 miles and over 4,000 ft of climbing, certainly more demanding than Snowdon. Families can choose either the guided walk with a local expert or the 8 mile walk with return by steam railway.

Each year we raise funds for organisations such as: the Air Ambulance, the Mountain Rescue Service and local good causes. Participants can raise money for your own charity, good cause, or club, or just enjoy the walk.

Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited

Legendary guitarist Steve Hackett has confirmed a World Tour, following his recent announcement of his newest album Genesis Revisited II, a limited edition 2CD Media-book, as well as a 4LP 2CD version, to be released on 22 October. Steve is proud to be performing six dates across the UK. The tour which starts at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on Fri 10 May will be a special production and something of a departure from his recent live shows.

This will mark the first time any original former member of Genesis has toured the band’s repertoire solely from the 1971 – 1977 period and will comprise songs co-written by Steve from that period, including such classics as Supper’s Ready, Dancing with the Moonlit Knight and The Musical Box.
