1. HEAD TO CAERPHILLY FOR PROMS IN THE PARK
Featuring former Wizard of Oz star Sophie Evans , the concert – A Night At The Musicals marks the official end of the BBC Proms.
Sophie is joined in Caerphilly by John Owen-Jones, of Phantom and Les Mis fame, who’ll be duetting with the young redhead. The fun starts at 7.45pm.
2. Run the Cardiff 10k (or the family friendly 2k)
Of course, if you haven’t applied yet, you’re too late for this year’s race, but you can still head to Cardiff to support this very worthy cause.
And if you’re lucky you can also get up-close-and-personal with Wales and Lions rugby star Alex Cuthbert who’s officially starting Sunday’s 20k race at 10am.
World Transplant Games swimming star Kieran Heycock will start the 2k event a little under an hour earlier.
The Cardiff 10k race starts and finishes at Cardiff’s King Edward VII Avenue at the City’s Civic Centre.
3. EAT OUT
Twelve new Welsh restaurants have made this year’s Good Food Guide so if you live near one, what are you waiting for?
The Shed in Porthgain, has made the guide for the first time as has Indian restaurant The Purple Poppadom in Cardiff.

4. WATCH IRONMAN WALES
We’re assuming you’re not actually entered in this, one of the most demanding Ironman events in the world (but if you are, cool!).
But you can still soak up the atmosphere in picturesque Pembrokeshire and watch some amazing athletic action as scores of people 1. swim 2.4 miles 2. bike 11 miles and 3. run 26.2 miles (phew).
There’s usually great support from the spectators so why not be one of them?

5. STAY IN AND WATCH STRICTLY!
It can’t have escaped your notice that Welsh designer Julien Macdonald is one of this year’s contestants .

The Merthyr-born former fashion designer of the year will be appearing on the premiere show on the small screen at 6.60pm on BBC1 before strutting his stuff over the coming weeks with other gorgeously attired celebs .

6. VISIT THE BIG PIT
The Blaenavon mine is celebrating 30 years as a tourist attraction and museum. It closed as a working mine in 1980 and reopened to the public three years later. Visitors can head underground on an hour-long tour in a pit cage led by former miners and discover roadways, stables and engine houses.
And best of all it’s FREE!

7. GO TO A FESTIVAL
Most of them have been and gone, but there’s still one or two to look forward to. The fabulous Italianate village of Portmeirion in Gwynedd is host to Festival No6 which features iconic legends, up-and-coming artists and DJs.
Starting today and running through to Sunday, you can catch headliners James Blake, My Bloody Valentine and Manic Street Preachers who’ll be singing their hearts out in a stunningly beautiful location.
8. GO TO THE PUB
Let’s be honest the weather’s not looking great for a lot of us so where better to while away a couple of hours than a great Welsh pub?
If you fancy going somewhere other than your local (however fab it is) check out the pubs you voted for in this best pubs article . You’ll be spoilt for choice! Iechyd da!
9. TAKE IN SOME CULTURE
When’s the last time you saw an art exhibition? Late artist Peter Prendergast was one of Britian’s foremost landscape painters and you can see The Art of Peter Prendergast for yourself in a major exhibition at the Oriel Tegfryn, Anglesey until September 29.

10. TOUR CITY HALL, CARDIFF
This magestic Portland stone building is one of Cardiff’s gems not normally open to the public, but will be tomorrow, from 10am to 4pm.
It was built in 1906, just one year after Cardiff became a city. You can find out more about its history with tours throughout the day.
