Today is the day that Pongo the Pig has been waiting for – that’s right, it’s his birthday! He’s been dropping hints to his friends all year, so is looking forward to a fantastic party… but the trouble is, nobody seems to remember!
Help make Pongo’s Party a day to remember, by joining in a show full of fun, songs and laughter – take part in the town’s biggest ever game of pass the parcel and join the largest children’s band.

There will be live music throughout the day on the main stage, offering something for everyone, featuring such tribute acts as Only One Direction, Beeyonce, In The Mix, Like Olly and Living on a Prayer.
Other attractions on the day include a junior assault course, land zorbs, outdoor roller skating, donkey rides, gyro wheel, The Mad Scientist Show and a soft play area for under-fives.
There will also be stilt walkers, jugglers and balloon model-makers throughout the day.

When and where does it take place?
Cwmcarn Forest, Abercarn on Thursday, June 2 at 10am.
How much will it cost?
£2.50 a child ages three and over. Booking advisable as spaces are limited.
What activities are taking place?
Get creative with crafty bits and pieces, seeds and soil making family of funny faced pots (using recycled pop bottles) and planting with soil and herb seeds for you to take home and enjoy.

View the wonders of the solar system in the mobile planetarium which will transport you into space.
People can enjoy safe views of our closest star, the Sun. Using specialised telescopes from provided by Dark Sky Wales participants will be able to explore the surface of our star seeing phenomena such as Sunspots, Prominences, solar flares, granulation and coronal mass ejections.
Close up views of these phenomena can be experienced safely in the company of an experienced astronomer. Participants will also get a free pair of solar glasses that can be used for future observations of the Sun.
