MEDEL MAKES DEBUT IN BPL OPENER

City’s record signing Gary Medel makes his Cardiff City debut for the Bluebirds as they make their Premier League bow at Upton Park against West Ham United.

There is also a starting place for 18-year old defender Declan John who makes only his second senior appearance, midfielder Aron Gunnarsson also claims his starting spot after returning from injury in City’s 2-1 win over Athletic Club last weekend.

New signing Steven Caulker also makes his competitive debut in defence alongside Ben Turner, Matt Connolly and John.
