Cardiff City’s Development squad will face Chelsea at home should they beat Brighton and Hove Albion in the second qualifying round of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League cup next week.
City take on Brighton at Sussex County FA Headquarters on Tuesday, 29th October (kick-off, 7pm) as they aim to make the last 32 of the inaugural competition, with a home clash against the Blues waiting for the winners of the fixture next Tuesday.
The Under-21 Premier League Cup has been introduced this season just a year after the Elite Player Performance Plan was unveiled across the country. Fifty-two academies entered the U-21 Premier League Cup, with City entered into the second qualifying round of the draw as a Category 2 Academy.
Kevin Cooper’s men continued their fine start to this seasons campaign on Monday night as Rhys Healey’s sixth goal in as many games secured a fifth win of the season over Millwall at Cardiff City Stadium.
