Derbyshire Crimestoppers committee volunteers, Brian and Jeevan, attended a Community Crime Awareness Day on 17th September, at the Indian Community Centre Association in Derby.
The focus of the day was to help the public learn about methods of crime prevention, how best to protect themselves, their family and homes, and create awareness of the local community resources available.
Brian gave a talk about Crimestoppers and shared a platform with, amongst others, the Derbyshire Police Crime Commissioner Alan Charles and Assistant Police Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa.
Over 120 people attended the event and members of the public had the opportunity to speak with our volunteers to find out more about the charity.
Derbyshire Committee volunteer, Jeevan, said: “I enjoyed attending the event and talking to people about Crimestoppers. People were really interested in the charity and how we could help them do their bit for their community by being able to report crime anonymously”.
