Dracula Untold star Luke Evans gets his teeth into another big role

Welsh actor Luke Evans has joined an all-star cast of a new film adaptation of JG Ballard’s High Rise, which will be directed by Doctor Who’s Ben Wheatley.

High-Rise centres on a new residential tower built on the cusp of Thatcher’s England, at the site of what will soon become the world’s financial hub.

Designed as a luxurious solution to the problems of the city, in reality it is a world apart and it becomes home to violent tribal factions.

The Hobbit actor will join a stellar cast for the production, which starts filming in Belfast this summer, including Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons James Purefoy and Reece Shearsmith.

Wheatley, who is also known for directing Sightseers and A Field in England, said: “Elizabeth Moss and Luke Evans are great additions to our cast.

“I’m really excited to be working with both of them. I’m looking forward to see what they will bring to the complex relationship between Richard and Helen Wilder.”
