Jim Allenby the hero as Glamorgan clinch Lords’ date

Australian-born Allenby, 30, was Glamorgan’s top scorer with an unbeaten 74 and then took two wickets as Hampshire were knocked out at the semi-final stage of a limited overs competition for the second time this season.

Glamorgan head for Lord’s for only the third time in their history and the first for 13 years on the back of Allenby’s efforts.

There they will meet either Nottinghamshire or Somerset, who contest the second semi-final tomorrow.

Hampshire were strong favourites to defend their title at Lord’s with Glamorgan having failed to beat them in a limited overs match since 2005.
