Last time out: Port Vale 2-3 Cardiff City – Tuesday 26th August 2014, Capital One Cup
Cardiff City secured a Third Round spot with a 3-2 victory over Port Vale. Skipper for the evening Joe Ralls put the Bluebirds in front before Michael O’Connor leveled for the hosts with a thirty-five yard thunderbolt. Debut forward Kiko Macheda’s first appearance in a City shirt proved crucial with a second half double to put Ole’s side two goals ahead. A late Michael Brown goal threatened to make it a nervy final few moments but City held on to seal their safe passage.

Cardiff City picked the most opportune time possible to record their first win by a two-goal margin in the Barclays Premier League, as the Bluebirds produced a vital 3-1 victory over bottom club Fulham at Cardiff City Stadium. Captain Steven Caulker produced an unlikely double by scoring either side of a Lewis Holtby equaliser for the Cottagers, and a Sascha Riether own-goal put Cardiff out of reach in the second half.

Jordon Mutch’s last minute winner at Craven Cottage in September 2013 earned City their first away win of the campaign, defeating Fulham 2-1. Mutch’s incredible left footed strike was eventually crowned Club Goal of the Season.
