Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man performed an indecent act in front of a group of female passengers on a train between Cardiff and Pontypridd.
Officers have released CCTV of a man they believe may have key information which could assist their investigation.
Investigating officer PC Jon Dando said: “A man who was travelling on a train between Cardiff and Pontypridd sat in a number of different seats during the course of the journey.
“He was then seen to perform an indecent act on more than one occasion in front of a number of different women.
“The train guard was alerted to his actions and the man left the service at Pontypridd.
“Fortunately this type of incident is rare on the rail network, but the incident left the women understandably disgusted by what they had seen.
“This was completely unwelcome and unacceptable behaviour, and we will do all in our power to catch the man responsible.
“I am now calling on the public to help bring this individual to justice.”
Having viewed CCTV footage, officers have identified a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened between 6pm and 6.45pm on Saturday, June 29.
“The man in his mid 30s, has short dark hair, and was wearing a dark T-shirt with a slogan on the front. He also had a black drawstring sports bag, “ said PC Dando.
“We are anxious to speak to this individual as we believe he may have key information that could assist us.
“If you recognise the man pictured, or have any information about the incident, I would urge you to please come forward and talk to us. Your information could be vital to this investigation.”
