After a disappointing season last year Surrey County Cricket Club start their new campaign today against Glamorgan.

They are playing their 4-day match at the Oval in division two.

Bowler Chris Tremlett says the team needs to show improvements: “It is time for guys to start to really deliver, hopefully they can do that.

“By doing that in division two the standard will be a little easier they can express themselves and gain confidence from playing in division two.

Chris tells Eagle about the young talent coming through the ranks: “There’s a lot of 22 and 23-year-olds around so that’s exciting for them to really go out there and express themselves after experiencing a pretty tough season of losing.

“Hopefully we can go out there and really enjoy our cricket.”

Last year Surrey were relegated after winning only one game.
