The home of Cardiff Blues and Cardiff RFC has been transformed by Cardiff Council into an official Rugby World Cup Fanzone, where fans can watch big screens, engage in rugby activities, enjoy different food and drink options and lots of entertainment.
The opening weekend of Rugby World Cup 2015 – that included Wales versus Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium – saw more than 100,000 fans enjoy the action in Fanzones across the country
Fanzones in Cardiff, Richmond, Rugby, Leeds, Brighton, Exeter, Gloucester and Birmingham opened their doors for the first three days of action.
And the Fanzone in Cardiff Arms Park proved especially popular, with over 35,000 attendees across the three days.
Stephen Brown, Managing Director of England Rugby 2015, said: “The Fanzones were a crucial part of our delivery plan for the Tournament so we’re thrilled that the opening weekend of Rugby World Cup 2015 has seen such a huge number of fans coming along, enjoying the experience and watching some exciting Rugby.
“It’s another Tournament first to have an official Fanzone in every Host City, plus central London and Rugby, and we have worked with all our Host Cities, Local Authorities and the Mayor of London to identify a range of fantastic locations to give fans, residents and visitors a focal point for celebrating the Tournament and the wider game of Rugby.”
Please note that on Rugby World Cup matchdays there is no public car parking available at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park. Also [The Lounge] will only be open to members and the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park store will be closed.
