Doctor Who: Top Welsh filming locations from the hit BBC show

Some people believe that aliens walk among us, especially on St Mary Street on a Saturday night, but for Doctor Who fans, the show’s Welsh filming locations provide the chance to spot some aliens on the same streets we walk down each day.

So if you’re walking the dog on your favourite beach and your turnaround to see Peter Capaldi scanning a rock with a sonic screwdriver, then don’t panic, it’s probably just the filming of the next series of Doctor Who.

We recently interviewed Doctor Who location manager Iwan Roberts, who described Wales as the ‘perfect place’ to film a TV show. We’ve put together a gallery of some famous Doctor Who filming locations with cast and crew on set, and compared them to everyday images of the same places.

Magical alien worlds? Nah, it’s just Bargoed, butt.
